On Saturday 21 September and Sunday 22 September 2024: guided tours and demonstrations at the Musée de l'horlogerie et du décolletage.

For the European Heritage Days, discover the history of time measurement, the watchmaking tradition of the valley and its turning industry. On an independent visit or guided by our guides, come and enjoy the museum’s collections.

PROGRAM:
Saturday 21 AND Sunday 22 September 2024
- Free visit of the museum collections and the temporary exhibition «L'Ecole d'horlo en temps de guerre 1939-1945»
10:00am to 1 :00pm and 2:00pm to 6:00pm
- Guided tour «Mechanics and gear wheels», to dive into the history of time measurement, the evolution of watchmaking in the Arve valley and the manufacture of small mechanical parts

Presentation «The Archives of networks: plans of yesterday and today»: evolution of the mapping of networks (roads, drinking water, sanitation, etc...) of Cluses

Demonstration «The know-how of the Lycée Charles Poncet »
The Lycée Charles Poncet, formerly Ecole Nationale d'Horlogerie, is the guest of the museum. Students will present some recent learning work, such as modelling a clock movement or the different stages of making the trophy for the national resistance and deportation competition
